Botox in Morocco is becoming increasingly popular in major cities such as Casablanca, Tangier, Rabat, and Marrakesh. Long reserved for an elite few, it has become more widely accessible thanks to affordable prices and increasingly natural treatment protocols. At My Laser Maroc, we’ve been offering botulinum toxin injections at our centers for years. Here is the complete 2026 guide to understanding this treatment, its application areas, pricing, and precautions.
What is Botox, and how does it work?
Botox is the best-known brand name for botulinum toxin type A, a purified neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Used in medicine since the 1980s, it is now one of the most extensively studied and safest treatments in cosmetic medicine when administered in therapeutic doses.
When injected in very small amounts into a muscle, botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the transmission of acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter). As a result, the muscle relaxes, stops contracting, and the expression line it caused fades. The effect lasts an average of 4 to 6 months, after which the muscle gradually regains its function.
Botulinum toxin brands used at My Laser Morocco
There are several brands of botulinum toxin, all of which are equally effective when administered in the correct dosage:
- Botox® (Allergan): the long-standing industry standard.
- Dysport® (Ipsen): has a slightly wider distribution and is often used for large areas (forehead).
- Azzalure®: the aesthetic equivalent of Dysport.
- Xeomin®: contains no complexing proteins, reducing the risk of an immune response.
At My Laser, we select the brand based on the treatment area and the patient's profile. All are approved medical devices and are stored in a cold chain.
Areas of the Face Treated with Botox
Botox is used to treat expression lines—that is, wrinkles caused by the repeated contraction of facial muscles:
Upper third of the face
- Forehead wrinkles (horizontal "surprise" lines): 4 to 6 injection sites.
- Frown lines / glabellar lines (between the eyebrows): 5 standard injection sites.
- Crow's feet (wrinkles around the eyes when smiling): 2 to 4 points per eye.
- Brow lift: subtly lift the tail of the eyebrow for a more open look.
Middle and Lower Thirds
- Bunny lines (fine lines along the bridge of the nose).
- Gummy smile: excessive gum display: relaxes the levator labii superioris muscle.
- Barcode: vertical fine lines above the upper lip.
- Drooping corners of the mouth (DAO): Lifts the corners of the mouth for a more harmonious smile.
- "Orange peel" chin: smooths out minor irregularities.
Extensive areas
- Neck lift (Nefertiti lift): injections into the platysma muscle to redefine the jawline and slim the neck.
- Masseter muscles (bruxism): helps refine a square jawline and reduces nighttime teeth grinding.
- Hyperhidrosis: Treatment for excessive sweating of the armpits, hands, or feet.
Botox Prices in Morocco
At My Laser Maroc, Botox prices are the same in both Casablanca and Tangier:
- A syringe (20–30 units): starting at 800 MAD: this is our only official pricing information.
The final price depends on the number of units needed, the target areas, and the product used. The final price is determined during the complimentary preliminary medical consultation; we do not provide online estimates.

What Happens During a Botox Treatment
- Medical consultation: assessment of the areas to be treated, discussion of expectations, and ruling out any contraindications.
- Discreet marking of injection points.
- Antiseptic cleansing of the skin.
- Injections using a very fine needle (30G or 32G). A slight prickling sensation; no local anesthesia is required.
- Total time: 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas.
- Post-injection instructions: remain upright for 4 hours; do not massage the treated areas; avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours; avoid saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours.
The first results appear between Day 3 and Day 7. Optimal results are achieved by Day 14. A free touch-up is available at the 15-day mark if an adjustment is needed.
Results and Duration of Effects
The effects of Botox last, on average:
- 4 to 6 months for standard facial areas.
- 3 to 4 months for highly active muscles (masseter muscles in bruxism).
- 6 to 8 months for patients receiving regular injections: the muscle gets used to staying relaxed, so the interval between sessions can be extended.
To maintain the results, 2 to 3 sessions per year are recommended. After several years, some patients notice that their expression lines are less pronounced even without Botox, thanks to muscle “rehabilitation.”
Contraindications and precautions
Botox is contraindicated in the following situations:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (as a precaution).
- Myasthenia gravis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (neuromuscular diseases).
- Documented allergy to botulinum toxin or complexing proteins.
- Active infection at the injection site.
- Currently undergoing treatment with aminoglycoside antibiotics.
- Severe coagulation disorders.
Possible but rare and temporary side effects: a small bruise, mild discomfort at the injection site, and headaches during the first 24 hours. Ptosis (drooping eyelid) is an extremely rare risk that can be avoided with precise technique.
Before and After Botox: Natural vs. “Frozen” Results
The most common concern: “looking frozen.” This can happen with an overdose or a poorly placed injection. At My Laser, our approach is conservative and natural: we preserve facial expression, soften wrinkles without completely eliminating them, and respect each individual’s anatomy.
After a well-executed treatment, your loved ones will notice that you look rested and refreshed, without being able to say exactly why. That’s the hallmark of a successful Botox treatment: no one can tell you’ve had it done.
Botox for Men: On the Rise
"Brotox" (Botox for men) is experiencing spectacular growth. The main indications are:
- Pronounced frown lines (the "stressed-out" look).
- Horizontal front.
- Crow's feet (made to look younger).
- Masseter muscles (excessively square jaw or bruxism).
- Underarm hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating that's embarrassing when wearing a suit).
Doses for men are higher (stronger muscles), with an emphasis on achieving natural-looking results.
Botox FAQ Morocco
Is Botox dangerous?
No, at the doses used in cosmetic medicine. The injected toxin remains localized in the targeted muscle and is eliminated within 4–6 months. This treatment has been extensively studied since the 1980s.
At what age can you start?
The first signs appear as early as age 25–30 with the onset of expression lines. As a preventive measure (early low-dose injections), it is possible to delay the development of deep wrinkles.
Can you get Botox and hyaluronic acid treatments at the same time?
Yes, the two are complementary. Botox treats dynamic (expression) wrinkles, while hyaluronic acid fills static (at-rest) wrinkles. This is a very common combination treatment.
How long do the effects of Botox last?
4 to 6 months on average. After several years of regular injections, the interval may lengthen to 6–8 months.
Does Botox cause weight gain?
No. That's a myth. The toxin has no effect on overall metabolism.
Can you lose weight in your face with Botox?
Yes, indirectly: injections into the masseter muscles (jaw muscles) gradually reduce their volume over 2–3 months, visibly slimming the lower face.
