Our doctors use Cynosure Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers, suitable for all skin types—from fair to medium and dark skin—for safe and effective permanent hair removal.
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure for permanent hair removal. The laser beam targets the melanin in the hair, heating the follicle until it is destroyed without damaging the surrounding skin.
For facial hair, the goal is a permanent reduction of 85% to 95% after a full course of treatments. The hairs that regrow between sessions are finer, lighter in color, and increasingly sparse until they eventually disappear.
A medical consultation is required before the first session. The doctor will check for any contraindications, determine your skin type according to the Fitzpatrick scale, and adjust the laser settings.
On the day of the beard session:
Average duration: 20 minutes. No downtime: you can resume your normal activities immediately. However, you should avoid sun exposure for at least 3 weeks after the session.
Starting with the first session, some of the treated hair will fall out within the next 1 to 3 weeks. The reduction is gradual but visible to the naked eye within the first few months.
Only hairs in the active growth phase (anagen phase) are effectively destroyed by each pulse. This is why several sessions spaced apart are necessary to target the entire hair growth cycle sequentially.
After the treatment, the skin on the beard area is smooth, and any regrowth is sparse, fine, and light in color. An annual maintenance session may be recommended to maintain the results.
For beards, we generally recommend 7 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart depending on the hair growth cycle in that area.
The exact number depends on your skin type, the thickness and density of the hair, and whether the area is hormone-dependent. Blonde, white, gray, and red hair does not respond to laser treatment; in such cases, we supplement the treatment with electrolysis, which is the only truly permanent method for these hair colors.
