As we age, and depending on the individual, the accumulation of muscle activity in certain areas of the face tends to form lines of varying depths known as expression lines. For many people, the presence of deep wrinkles is a source of self-consciousness. To address this concern, My Laser centers offer botulinum toxin injections.
Botulinum toxin, an active ingredient known by the brand name Botox, was originally used to treat the symptoms of various conditions that cause nerve paralysis.
Used in cosmetic medicine, botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals that cause muscle contraction, thereby reducing the movement of certain muscle groups and, as a result, reducing expression lines. The treatment is administered by a meticulous and experienced physician; it does not affect your facial expressiveness; so you will still be able to smile and move your eyebrows. The treatment relaxes only the muscles beneath the wrinkles at the injection sites, without affecting other facial expressions.
Botulinum toxin injections are recommended for the following areas of the face:
Le Botox agit en bloquant temporairement la contraction musculaire. Zones traitées : rides du front (10-20 unités), rides du lion inter-sourcilières (15-25 unités), pattes d’oie contour des yeux (10-20 par côté), bunny lines (4-10), cordes du cou platysmales (20-40), hyperhydrose des aisselles (50-100 par aisselle), bruxisme masseters (affine l’ovale en bonus).

The first effects of Botox appear between 3 and 7 days after treatment, with optimal results visible by day 14. A free touch-up is available after 15 days if adjustments are needed.
Average duration of effects:

Possible but rare and temporary side effects: a small bruise, mild discomfort at the injection site, and headaches during the first 24 hours. Ptosis (drooping eyelid) is an extremely rare risk that can be avoided with precise technique.
