• A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that uses acidic products such as TCA (trichloroacetic acid) or fruit acids (glycolic acid). These products stimulate the skin to promote regeneration or reduce certain imperfections.
• These treatments can sometimes cause burns or hyperpigmentation if you do not follow the instructions. Please inform us of any treatments or procedures you have undergone (such as skin-irritating treatments or UV sessions).
• Depending on your skin type, you may be instructed to follow a preparatory regimen starting 15 days before the peel.
• On the day of your peel, it’s best to come
without makeup.
– Recent exposure to sunlight or UV rays
– Use of photosensitizing medications
– Any skin-irritating treatments (skin cleansing, dermabrasion, hair removal, shaving, etc.)
1. Cleansing and makeup removal
2. Application of an acid solution (duration varies depending on skin type and product)
3. Rinsing or neutralization
4. Application of a moisturizing and soothing cream
5. Sunscreen.
Immediately after the peel, the skin appears slightly frosted or white, depending on the intensity level chosen, and then turns pink or even red. This redness usually fades quickly but may remain quite noticeable. This can cause social discomfort. During this phase, do not wear makeup. After 3 days, the skin begins to peel. Do not remove the flakes at this stage, as this may cause discoloration. Simply moisturize the skin with a cream. The peeling phase can last 8 to 10 days. It ranges from mild to pronounced, depending on the treatment. Throughout this period, heavy makeup is not recommended. A light dusting of powder is acceptable.
Possible side effects following a peel may include burns, hyperpigmentation, and depigmentation, primarily when pre- and post-procedure contraindications are not followed, though this is not the only cause.
Any side effects following a peel must be reported immediately to the practitioner, who will administer the appropriate treatment.
I hereby certify that I have read this document, had the opportunity to ask any questions, and received all the answers necessary to proceed with my peel with full knowledge of the facts.
